Jane Makena Kirimi
Founder & Managing Partner:
Ms. Makena is the founder and managing Partner of JMK Partners Advocates LLP. Before establishing the Firm, Makena was the managing partner at the firm of Sichangi Partner’s Advocates, a leading firm in Kenya and Africa where she gained double edged experience in management and the practice of law as well. She headed and led various departments on diverse times in the same firm. Makena has also worked as a senior associate with firm of MMC AFRICA LAW (MMC ASAFO) which is a top tier law firm with global recognition.
Her experience in the practice of law cuts along diverse areas of law which include; Legal Audit and Compliance, Banking, Finance & Fintech practice, Real Estate or Property Law practice, Intellectual Property Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, Infrastructure and Public Private Partnerships, Energy, Oil, Gas & Extractive Industries, Legislative Drafting and Policy Formulation.
• As a banking, finance and fintech practitioner, she has acted for various banks and financial institutions in preparing all forms of security documents and structuring complex syndicated and cross boarder loan facilities whose value stretches way into billions of shillings.
• She has also acted for various real estate companies, developers in structuring complex real estate developments, preparation and negotiation of sale agreements, leases, transfers and joint venture agreements among others.
• In corporate commercial she is renowned and she has advised various individuals and corporate entities in setting up and restructuring of companies including foreign companies, partnerships, and microfinance institutions among others.
• She has aided in various briefs on legislative drafting and policy formulation for instance, the drafting of the Health Regulations of Laikipia County Government among other government agencies.
• She is also a registered patent agent and she has handled various briefs in the registration of patents, trademarks, service marks, utility models and industrial designs.
• She is also trained in legal audit and compliance and she has conducted audits for various corporate clients, NGO’s and foreign companies carrying out business in Kenya.

Nathaniel K. Mwangi
Partner
Kanyi is the partner in charge of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department in which he represents clients both at the Superior and Lower Courts. He also represents individuals and corporates in various Statutory Tribunals as well as in Mediation, Arbitration and Conciliation proceedings etc. Kanyi represents clients in Debt Recovery cases and is an excellent legal practitioner in Insolvency, Restructuring and Bankruptcy as well as Family law, Succession and Estate Planning.
Prior to joining the Firm, Kanyi worked for various Law Firms, NGOs and Government offices in various capacities where he garnered immeasurable experience in various areas of practice other than litigation and dispute resolution, in particular, experience in Immigration Law and Legislative Drafting and Policy Formulation. Ann Nkatha
Partner
Ann has served both the private and public sector as a legal officer. Prior to joining the Firm, she served as the Principal Legal Officer of the Tharaka Nithi County Government, where she gave professional legal advice to the Tharaka Nithi County Executives in the drafting of the Tharaka Nithi Climate Change Fund Bill, Tharaka Nithi County E–Waste Management Bill, Tharaka Nithi County Urban Agriculture Promotion and Regulation Bill and among other bills. Her experience working with Tharaka Nithi County Governemnt has been of immense benefit to the Firm especially on matters relating to Legislative Drafting and Policy Formulation.
Ann is a Certified Public Secretary (CPS-K), thus, placing the Firm at a position to offer matchless services in Corporate and Company Secretarial Services. Faith W. Karanja
Senior Associate
Faith is senior associate in the Firm. In the Corporate and Commercial Law field, Faith is involved in the incorporation of various business entities, offering of company secretarial services and negotiation and drafting of diverse commercial contracts. Faith has acted for various clients in Employment and Labour Relations matters and has also acted for corporate clients in the successful conduct of Legal Audit and Compliance. In the Banking, Finance & Fintech Practice, she has acted for banks, international investors/lenders and financial institutions in the perfection of their securities.

Linda Kiendi Wavinya
Associate Advocate
Linda is an associate advocate in the Firm. She specializes in Litigation & Dispute Resolution and undertakes general litigation matters which include: criminal litigation, civil litigation on commercial and industrial dispute matters, immigration law, family law and succession. She has appeared and represented individuals and corporate clients before Tribunals such as Arbitral Tribunals & other alternative dispute resolution tribunals, Co-operative Tribunal, Business Premises Rent Tribunal and Rent Restriction Tribunal. Michael Omemo Spinks

Mukami Lorna
Legal Intern
Mukami is a legal intern currently pursuing her Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB) at the University of Nairobi. She undertakes tasks on rotation basis in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution, Corporate and Commercial Law and Real Estate Departments in order to attain a holistic experience. In these departments she is involved in the extensive conduct of legal research.
Mukami is currently training to be a Certified Public Secretary and the knowledge she has acquired so far in this course enables her to conduct excellent research in corporate secretarial matters.

Kevin Muhanji
Legal Assistant
Kelvin is currently pursuing his Bachelor Degree in Law(LLB) at the University of Nairobi. At JMK Partners Advocates LLP, he undertakes missions on rotation basis in the Litigation and Dispute resolution, Corporate and Commercial Law and Real Estate Departments.
In these departments, he undertakes general legal research on a wide range of legal issues. He further undertakes the preparation of an array of legal documents in the various practice areas such as applications for grants, divorce petitions, child custody agreements, employment contracts, agreements for sale, lease agreements, charges, debentures, surrenders, discharge of charge and transfers.
Kevin doubles up as the Firm’s legal clerk and is tasked with effective lodging and registration of legal documents at relevant registries including the Land Registries, Companies Registry and Registrar of Documents. He is also obligated with the service of Court documents. He always finds ethical and innovative ways to get things done however complex and he is a great support to the Firm.
